These terms govern the optional paid password-recovery service on officepasswordremover.com. The core protection-removal tool is free and runs entirely in your browser; these terms apply when you choose to use the paid cloud recovery for an encrypted (open-password) file. By using the recovery service you agree to these terms.

1. Authorized use only

You may only submit a file's password fingerprint if you own the file or are explicitly authorized to access it. You confirm this each time you use the recovery service. Using it to access files you are not authorized to open is prohibited and may be unlawful.

2. What we receive

We never receive your document. Your browser sends only the file's encryption fingerprint (a cryptographic hash: salt and verifier values), which cannot reveal the document's contents. The file is decrypted locally in your browser after a successful recovery.

3. Pay on success only

You are charged only if we recover the password, and only when you choose to reveal it. If we cannot recover it, you pay nothing.

4. No guarantee of success

Strong or long passwords often cannot be recovered — that is encryption working as intended. We make no guarantee of success and provide the service "as is".

5. Refund policy

Because you pay only after a confirmed successful recovery, and only when you choose to reveal the password, there is normally nothing to refund for an unsuccessful attempt — you are not charged. Where a charge has been taken, refunds are provided in the case of a technical fault on our side (for example, an incorrect password revealed, or a charge taken without the password being made available to you). To request a refund, contact support@officepasswordremover.com with your order details and we will put it right.

6. Data retention & keeping your password

Job data (the hash and, briefly, a recovered password) is stored encrypted and automatically deleted within 72 hours. We do not sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for details. Because we delete our copy, a recovered password is delivered to you once — please save it when it is shown. If you later lose it but still have the file, you can recover it again, and we will waive the charge for a repeat recovery of a file you have already paid for (see the Refund Policy).

If you choose to provide an email address so we can notify you about a recovery job, it is optional, stored encrypted, never used to email you a password, and covered by the "Optional Email Notifications" section of our Privacy Policy, including how to unsubscribe or request erasure.

7. Payments

Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; your card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and never touch our servers. We are the seller of record, responsible for billing, any applicable VAT, and refunds. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy also apply to the payment.

8. Prohibited use

No use against files you do not own or control, no automated or bulk abuse, and no attempts to disrupt the service.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific recovery in question.
